Xiaomi raises the bar on battery technology

Ana sayfa / News

The battery wars between Chinese manufacturers in the phone market are reaching a new level. According to the latest report from Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is testing a new Redmi phone model with a massive battery capacity of 8,500 to 9,000 mAh, a move that will shake up the tech world. Xiaomi will threaten its rivals with battery life.

The most striking aspect of the leak is that this massive battery will be integrated without compromising the phone’s design. According to the report, the Redmi phone, expected to house a 9,000 mAh battery, will have a chassis approximately 8.5 mm thick. This is the same thickness as many standard smartphones today, demonstrating Xiaomi’s advancements in battery technology.

Furthermore, the battery used is reportedly Xiaomi’s own technology, and despite its high capacity, it doesn’t compromise on charge cycle life, meaning battery health.

Xiaomi’s move is a response to the intense competition in the market. The brand’s current battery champion was the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, released this year with a 7,550 mAh battery. The newly tested phone will significantly exceed this capacity, breaking the brand’s own record.

Meanwhile, its competitors are not sitting idle. Honor is rumored to soon release a device with a staggering 10,000 mAh battery. Brands like iQOO have already released phones with 8,000 mAh capacities.

Xiaomi is expected to prove its mettle in this competition with its new 9,000 mAh Redmi model. Which Redmi series will be the first to feature this massive battery remains to be seen.
